Evidence and records checklist

Collect only truthful, relevant material. This list helps with organization; it does not assess whether anything supports a particular result.

Scene

  • Original photos
  • Signs and curb markings
  • Location and time notes

Transactions

  • Receipts
  • Payment confirmations
  • Permit records

Notice trail

  • Notice and envelopes
  • City correspondence
  • Your submission confirmation
Keep originals and context. Do not alter records or submit irrelevant personal data. Follow current City format and submission instructions.

Keep an index beside the original evidence

For each original file, note its filename, the date and location it records, and a short description. Keep a separate entry for any submission confirmation so you can distinguish evidence you collected from material you submitted.

The index is for your own organization. It does not determine relevance, admissibility or the outcome of a ticket matter. Follow the City instructions for the actual submission.
